By accessing and using WiFiNYC.app (referred to as "the Website," "the App," or "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations in the United States and New York City. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this site.

Description of Service & High Utility Directory

WiFiNYC.app operates as a standalone, mobile-first one-page web application that serves as an independent public utility directory. The App utilizes official Government API endpoints (NYC Open Data) to display the geographic distribution of free Wi-Fi kiosks and 5G smart poles across New York City. We provide this mapping tool and related infrastructure information purely for community utility and educational purposes.

Independent Classifier Status Notice WiFiNYC.app is an independent, privately-owned digital platform. We are NOT legally affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or partnered with the City of New York, CityBridge LLC, or the official LinkNYC brand or trademark. All data displayed is fetched legally from public open data catalogs. Any reliance on the information provided on this Website is strictly at your own risk.

Progressive Web App (PWA) & "Add to Phone" Feature

We provide native PWA integration to allow mobile and tablet users to create a homescreen shortcut via the "Add to Phone" button.

  • This feature is designed as a lightweight visual shortcut that uses 0 MB of your device's permanent hardware storage.
  • The built-in Service Worker (sw.js) will cache core map structures to allow limited offline access (such as inside MTA subway tunnels).
  • We do not guarantee that the offline map features will always reflect real-time updates when operating without an active internet connection.

User Conduct & Interactivity

You agree to use our interactive map search bar, borough filters, and "Favourite" bookmarking tools only for personal, non-commercial use. You are strictly prohibited from:

No Scraping

Attempting to scrape, crawl, or reverse-engineer the underlying JavaScript source code or native API data fetch mechanisms.

Device Integrity

Using the Service to disrupt or overload the infrastructure network of the Website.

No Manipulation

Misrepresenting your geographical location to manipulate the client-side GPS location tracking feature.

Third-Party Advertisements & Monetization

This Website is monetized through third-party advertisement networks, specifically Google AdSense, operating on a Pay-Per-Impression (CPM) model. By using this platform, you acknowledge and agree that non-personal tracking cookies may be deployed by advertising vendors to serve relevant commercial banners. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall WiFiNYC.app, its administrators, or webmaster teams be held liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data, connectivity drops, or hardware malfunctions) arising out of the use or inability to use the live interactive map or public Wi-Fi locator tools, even if notified of the possibility of such damage.

We do not warrant that any of the materials on the Website are completely accurate, current, or up-to-date, though we pull dynamic live nodes directly from the city's official databases.
